Indoor filter systems assessments

Cleanrooms, utilized in industries like healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and electronics manufacturing, rely heavily on High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters to maintain their stringent cleanliness standards. These filters are subjected to regular tests to ensure optimal function and compliance with regulatory requirements. The tests help in early identification of filter degradation or failure, thereby facilitating timely replacements and maintaining the controlled environment's integrity, crucial for the successful operation of cleanroom activities.

The current state of the art

The Dispersed Oil Particulate (DOP) test, also known as filter integrity testing, is a common method used to evaluate the performance of High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters. This test involves passing oil aerosols through the filter and using sensors to count the particles that penetrate the filter, thereby assessing its integrity and efficiency.

Limitation & Challenges

Accuracy Limitation

DOP may not accurately detect all HEPA-level particulates.

Size Distribution

Difficulty to achieve precise size distribution of test aerosols.

Handling Difficulties

Oil aerosols do not mimic the dry particles and can be hard to handle.
